The final year students of GKVK as a part of their Rural Agricultural Work Experience under Student Ready Programme celebrated The National Farmers Day in Dandiganahalli of Devanahalli taluk on 23rd of December.

The objective of celebrating National Farmers Day in Dandiganahalli was to recognize the crucial role of innovation and sustainable practices in ensuring food security for future generations. It’s a day to acknowledge their tireless efforts, the sweat and sun they toil under, and the bountiful harvests that grace our tables.
The programme was held in the premises of Government School, Dandiganahalli in association with Sumitomo Chemicals at 11:30 am. All the farmers, village heads and elderly attended the programme.

The technical manager of Sumitomo Chemicals addressed the farmers on the significance of Farmers Day and briefed about the importance of using proper gears and equipments while spraying chemicals in their fields. He emphasized the importance of farmer’s health for the sake of the family and nation.

The celebration was continued by distributing jasmine plants and sweets to all the farmers .

On the account of National Farmers Day, the students of GKVK along with the farmers planted a sapling as a souvenir of the occasion. The programme was concluded by words of gratitude followed by a group photo.


Farmers are the stewards of our land, and their choices impact not only their livelihoods but also the health of our planet.
