PROGRAMME ON BIOFUEL Laginayakanahalli

With the increased use of fossil fuels, pollution has been increasing day by day. Environmentalists have raised their concern regarding pollution and associated climate change.To combat this,one of the methods that can be used is the use of biofuels as an alternative to the conventional fossil fuels.

As a part of RAWE programme by the University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bengaluru,a programme on biofuel training was held in Laginayakanahalli village on 6th December,2023.

Dr. Venkatesh, Professor from College of Agriculture, Chintamani emphasized the use of biofuels instead of fossil fuels in the long run.He explained to the farmers about the harmful effects and threats posed by the excessive use of petrol and diesel.He showed samples of Simarouba,Neem and Mahua biodiesel, Simarouba, Neem,Amoora,Mahua and Jatropha oil,Neem, Simarouba, Mahua,Amoora, Jatropha and Pongamia oil cakes and seeds of Simarouba, Mahua,Neem,Amoora, Jatropha and Pongamia.

He then sung songs on biofuel along with the school children.He made the students say the slogan,”Jaivika indhana,Bhavishyada indhana”,”Hasire Usiru” and “Manegondhu mara,oorigondhu vana”.The programme was attended by the farmers,farm women and most school children.

Say “Yes” to Biofuels and “No” to pollution!
