KRISHI MARATA VAHINI
On 13/12/2023, a meeting was conducted where information regarding the Karnataka State Government and Karnataka State Agriculture Department’s website :
https://www.krishimaratavahini.kar.nic.in was given.
The farmers were selling their produce without knowing the market prices of different agricultural produce. The farmers were showed how to use the website to view State Level
Daily Report, Marketwise Daily Report, Commodity wise Daily Report, etc. in different markets of Karnataka. This was mainly helpful for the pomegranate and grapes growers
whose markets are widespread.

KISAN CREDIT CARD

On 21/12/2023, a night meeting on the Kisan Credit Card scheme was conducted to give farmers information regarding the different types of loans they can avail and also derive the benefits as far as possible.
Mainly the scheme aims at meeting theshort-term credit requirements for cultivation of crops, post-harvest expenses, produce marketing loan,
consumption requirements of farmer household, working capital for maintenance of farm assets
and activities allied to agriculture, investment credit requirement for agriculture and allied activities.
Also, information about the government initiatives for KCC saturation like adding farmers
engaged in animal husbandry and fisheries, no processing fee of loan under KCC and raising the limit of collateral free agriculture
loan from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs.1.6 lakh, and interest rates for different loans were highlighted.

FRUITS ID


On 22/12/2023, a meeting was conducted mainly to provide the importance of having a Fruits id or Farmer Id which is mandatory to avail benefits from the Government Schemes.
The Government of Karnataka launched this Farmer Registration and Unified beneficiary Information System (FRUITS) portal to organize and scrutinize the data of farmers about their land, crops grown, weather forecast with respect
to their land location. FRUITS is being extensively used for implementation of various schemes across the departments.
FRUITS mobile app also enables farmers to know the benefits are they have availed from agriculture and allied departments. Mobile app also facilitates to know NPCI seeding status of farmers. Almost all the farmers had their
Fruits id.

APMC SCHEMES


On 22/12/2023, a meeting was conducted to provide information regarding the different schemes of APMC.


Pledge loan scheme:
This scheme is in force since 1994-95 in 132 markets of the State. Loans up to Rs.2,00,000 or
60% of the value of the agricultural produce may be paid to the farmers against the pledge of their agricultural produce.


Raitha Sanjeevini scheme:
This is an Accident Insurance Scheme implemented by the Board from 1996. Under this
scheme, a farmer who meets with an accidental death or permanent disabilities by production or marketing operations the following amount of
compensation grant by the Board. The immediate dependent has to apply through the APMC for the sanction of the amount.

KISAN CALL CENTER
On 28/12/2023, a meeting was conducted to give information about the Kisan Call Center.
Main aim of this project is to answer farmers’ queries on a telephone call in their own dialect. A countrywide common eleven digit Toll Free number 1800-180- 1551 or 1551 has been allotted for Kisan Call Centres using which the farmers
could dial and receive answer to their queries in their local language was stressed.

APEDA
On 28/12/2023, meeting regarding the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority was conducted.
APEDA is the premier body of export promotion of fresh vegetables and fruits. It provides the crucial interface between farmers, storehouses, packers, exporters, surface transport, ports, Railways, Airways, and all others engaged in
export trade to the international Market. The benefits of the authority, it’s goals,schemes were also highlighted.

HOPCOMS
On 28/12/2023, a meeting was conducted regarding HOPCOMS. Majority of the farmers were Horticultural Farmers therefore information about this was important.
Information about Horticultural Producers’ Cooperative Marketing and Processing Society, popularly known by its acronym, HOPCOMS, a farmers’ society for the direct marketing of farm produces was highlighted.
The society’s operations in Bangalore, Kolar, Mysore, Tumkur,Mandya and Mangalore districts, it’s main activity i.e.,maintenance of a marketing system by which the farmers are
ensured of a good price for their produces and the consumers are provided with quality goods at affordable prices were the main points. The society has also eliminated the middle men and acts as the only link between the farmers and the consumers. The activities of HOPCOMS are
threefold; procurement, storage and distribution. The payment to the farmers are distributed immediately on acceptance of goods.
