Animal health campaign was conducted in Thippenahalli village on 8th December,2023 in association with Department of animal husbandry with the support of various groups and organisations.
Dairy farming is an important source of revenue for farmers next to sericulture in the village. According to our animal survey report, the following are the number of animals in Thippenahalli village.

*Calf(more than 6 months)-30
*Calf(less than 6 months)-35
*Sheep-173
*Goat-292
Various stalls were set up near government school surroundings consisting of different fodder varieties , Azolla demonstration, display of chaff cutter ,etc. Information regarding different breeds of cow, buffalo, sheep, goat ,and hen and also about vaccination schedules for cow, goat and hen was displayed.
Animal health camp started with “Goo” Pooja which was followed by animal health checkup by veterinary doctors. Main attraction in animal health camp was calf rally where 65 calfs under three categories – below 6 months,above 6 months upto 1 year and indigenous breeds were evaluated for overall health.
Free general health and pregnancy checkup was done for 87 cows and 44 calfs.
Later, program was conducted in presence of many dignitaries. R Shrinivasramayya director of KOCHIMUL, KMF spoke about dairy farming and its importance as subsidiary occupation.
Veterinary doctors Dr.Prashant , Dr. Naveen Chandra, Dr.Ramesh Kumar , Dr.Dhananjay, Dr. Binduja spoke about proper care and maintenance of dairy animals.
Dr. Ravindra ,Animal gynaecologist, Dr.Veere Gowda, Professor of microbiology , Dr. Anand Manegar , Associate professor of animal science spoke about importance of Azolla and hygiene while milking.
Later, prizes were distributed for best calfs in all the three categories and free medicines were distributed to farmers.
