
Under the joint auspices of the Department of Agriculture, Government of Karnataka, final year B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture and B.Sc.Agribusiness Management students celebrated World Soil Day on 5th December at Ibasapur village of Devanahalli taluk under Rural Agriculture Experience Program under Student Ready Programme. In the program, RAWE program coordinator Dr. Ganesamoorthi said that the students should do the work of making the farmers aware about the nutrients in the soil.

Dr. Gayatri, Professor at Department of soil science and Agricultural Chemistry, spoke and informed the farmers of the village about the importance of soil and suggested that all the farmers should get the soil tested. She gave information about Soil Card.
Prizes were distributed to the students who participated in various competitions such as Clay Modeling, Quiz, Essay, Elocation, Painting, speech organized in Government Primary School on the occasion of World Soil Day.
Sahana, a student of Rawe spoke about how our life can go on only if the health of the soil is maintained and Pawan told about the method of repairing soil erosion and salt-affected soils.
