On 7th of November we started with arranging chairs, setting up the lights and speakers infront of the anganawadi in Laginayakanahalli. After the completion of presentation by ABM and agricultural engineering students we agri students conducted a method demonstration on FYM enrichment and seed treatment using Trichoderma.
Before the demonstration we briefed about the protective measures (gloves,masks) to be followed while mixing trichoderma with seeds and FYM.
SEED TREATMENT
- wear the gloves
- Take required amount of seeds
- sprinkle required amount of water and trichoderma
- General recommendation: 5g of trichoderma with 10ml of water/kg of seed
- Mix thoroughly
- Shade dry the treated seeds for 20-30 minutes then use the treated seeds for sowing
SEEDLING DIP
- Take required number of seedlings
- General recommendation: 300-500g of trichoderma with 5 litres of water/seedling used for 1 acre plot
- Make the solution of trichoderma at the concentration of 10%
- Dip the seedling fot 15 minutes then go for transplanting
FYM ENRICHMENT
- Take required amount of FYM
- General recommendation: 100kg of FYM with 5kg of trichoderma
- Add the trichoderma to the FYM at the concentration of 5%
- Sprinkle the water, then cover it with polythene for 1 week time
- After enriched FYM will be applied to the field
