ARTIFICIAL BOREWELL RECHARGE

Artificial borewell recharge refers to the process of artificially replenishing or recharging the groundwater reserves by various techniques such as injecting surface water or treated wastewater into borewells. This helps to restore the groundwater levels and maintain a sustainable supply of water for various purposes. Various methods like rainwater harvesting, percolation tanks, and recharge pits are employed to augment the groundwater levels and ensure its sustainability.

Soil and water conservation structures

Soil and water conservation structures are physical structures or techniques designed to prevent soil erosion, manage water resources, and improve soil fertility. They include various measures such as terracing, contour bunding, check dams, gully control structures, and percolation tanks. These structures aim to reduce the velocity of water flow, promote infiltration, and prevent the loss of topsoil, thereby conserving both soil and water resources in agricultural and environmental settings.
