Students of Agriculture and Agri Business Management of CoA, GKVK, Bengaluru under the guidance of Dr. Y M Gopal, Assistant Coordinater and Dr. Ganesamoorthi S, Chief Coordinator of Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme(RAWEP) are assigned to Reddydyavarahalli Village under Cluster 5 of Gouribidanur Taluk, Chilkaballapur District of Karnataka State.

  On 13-10-2023 we organised a Krishi Jaatha all around the village to address our presence in our village and what are our RAWE Objectives

Objectives of RAWE Programme


• To provide opportunity to the students to understand the rural situation in relation to agriculture 
and allied activities.
• To make the students familiar with socio-economic conditions of the farmers and their problems.
• To impart diagnostic and remedial knowledge to the students relevant to real field situations 
through practical training.
• To develop effective communication skills of students with farmers using latest extension 
methodologies in transfer of technology. 
• To develop confidence and competence among students to solve complex agricultural problems. 
• To acquaint students with on-going extension and rural development programmes.

On 14-10-2023 we planned for Crop Museum layout comprising all the crop seeds provided by UAS, Bangalore and searched for Information Centre in the village. We visited to the Lord Anjaneya temple in the village to seek blessings of the lord for our good health and Smooth RAWEP

On 15-10-2023 Shramadhana activity under National Service Scheme(NSS), UAS-B was done by the students. We cleaned the heart of the village near GLPS, Reddydyavarahalli.

On 16-10-2023 Visit to IC and Crop Museum. Information Centre given by Government Lower Primary School, Reddydyavarahalli and we effectively in group cleaned the place.We discussed about conducting General Meeting and a programme on World Food Day 2023 which was to be conducted on the next day (17-10-2023). Our Coordinator and Asst. Coordinator visited to the village to guide us.

A Chart on ‘My Plate’

On 17-10-2023 General Meeting and a programme on ‘World Food Day 2023’ was organised at evening. Theme of this year’s WFD is ‘Water is Life, Water is Food – Leave No One Behind’. Importance of Millets and millet based foods was discussed as 2023 is the International Year of Millets.

General Meeting and World Food Day 2023

18-10-2023 Field Visit to Mr Diwakar and Mr Mahadev’s Sandalwood, Tuberose and Chilli field.

On 19-10-2023 Field visit to Ms Gayathri’s field.Maize was major crop followed by Tuberose Groundnut, Chilli and Brinjal. Brinjal and Chilli was practiced as Intercrop. Soil was sandy soil. Maize fields were completely demolished by the attack of Fall Army Worm and Stem borer.Groundnut was attacked by Tikka disease.

Field Visit on one of the two farmers who practices Sericulture in the village Mr Srinivas. We saw the Silkworm Rearing house which has 5 tier bed 2 tier ventilation, Uzi fly traps, Sensors , Mountage house and Mulberry garden with V-1 variety.
